Frederick Community College is seeking a qualified ESL instructor to teach English as a Second Language to adult learners. The instructor will provide face-to-face instruction in English to students who are 18 years of age or older.

The ESL program offers classes in Basic and Targeted English as a Second Language, focusing on specific language, pre-academic, and academic English skills. Classes are offered on weekdays and Saturdays to include both daytime and evening hours.

The instructor will be responsible for planning lessons based on student needs, career and learning goals, and/or the established core outcomes of the course. They will also provide student-centered, interactive instruction that promotes communication in English, develop and conduct ongoing student assessment, and keep accurate student records.

Required qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree and experience teaching ESOL. A Master's Degree in a TESOL-related field and experience teaching ESOL are required for the Academic ESL position. Desired qualifications include a Master's Degree or certificate in TESOL or TEFL, successful experience teaching ESL/EFL/ESOL, and excellent oral and written English communication skills.
