Director of Information Technology

American Humane is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director of Information Technology to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily IT operations of the organization, working collaboratively with the Chief Technology Officer to develop and implement a comprehensive enterprise cybersecurity program.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a strategic cybersecurity program to protect American Humane's data and systems.
- Oversee the development and enhancement of information systems and telecommunications activities.
- Manage organizational risks and recommend practical solutions to improve the effective use of technology.
- Lead continual efforts to improve the use of technology and ensure the organization's IT systems are secure and reliable.
- Provide expertise and support to staff on IT-related issues and projects.
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and managed services providers to ensure the organization's IT needs are met.
- Monitor and report on IT compliance requirements related to HIPAA, PCI, and other standards.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
- 5 or more years of experience working in Information Technology with management responsibility overseeing at least two of the following IT functions: Network Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Cloud computing, Software Development, or IT Operations.
- Experience managing direct report(s) in an IT function is strongly desired.
- Firm grasp of IT concepts and principles, including but not limited to desktop and server operating systems, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, network components and infrastructure, VOIP technology and services, and network and infrastructure security.
- Ability to follow-up and meet deadlines, conduct and direct research into IT issues and products, and take initiative in the development and completion of projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain IT technology and concepts in easy-to-understand terms to the average person.
