- Safety Protocols: Wear protective equipment as required per department policy and procedure.
- Nursing Care Plans: Review and implement nursing care plans reflecting physical, emotional, restorative, rehabilitative, teaching, and goals for the resident.
- Team Collaboration: Provide for quality resident care by utilizing the abilities and capabilities of staff members.
- Workload Management: Assist and direct Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) in organization and completion of workload to meet the needs of the residents.
- Medication Management: Order medication from the pharmacy, control the counting of narcotics, barbiturates, and counter medications, and maintain accurate records.
- Supply Management: Order supplies for the nursing unit.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records.
- Professional Development: Participate in the development of non-professional personnel through orientation and in-service programs.
- Evaluation and Revision: Evaluate resident care plans for appropriateness and revise as needed.
- Scheduling: Arrange schedules to allow for supervisor and evaluation of performance of all nursing personnel on the unit.
- Current LPN licensure in the state of practice.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
