  • Staff Supervision: Address issues concerning staff members and take initiative in processing disciplinary action when needed.
  • Safety Protocols: Wear protective equipment as required per department policy and procedure.
  • Nursing Care Plans: Review and implement nursing care plans reflecting physical, emotional, restorative, rehabilitative, teaching, and goals for the resident.
  • Team Collaboration: Provide for quality resident care by utilizing the abilities and capabilities of staff members.
  • Workload Management: Assist and direct Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) in organization and completion of workload to meet the needs of the residents.
  • Medication Management: Order medication from the pharmacy, control the counting of narcotics, barbiturates, and counter medications, and maintain accurate records.
  • Supply Management: Order supplies for the nursing unit.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records.
  • Professional Development: Participate in the development of non-professional personnel through orientation and in-service programs.
  • Evaluation and Revision: Evaluate resident care plans for appropriateness and revise as needed.
  • Scheduling: Arrange schedules to allow for supervisor and evaluation of performance of all nursing personnel on the unit.
Requirements
  • Current LPN licensure in the state of practice.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in electronic medical records.
