Key Responsibilities:- Administer radiopharmaceuticals and radiation for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.
- Utilize advanced radioisotope equipment to perform imaging procedures.
- Ensure quality control and maintain patient flow during procedures.
- Conduct screening tests for accurate diagnostic interpretation.
Education:
- Completion of a diploma or certificate program in Nuclear Medicine from an accredited institution is required.
- A Bachelor's Degree in nuclear medicine technology is preferred.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Must possess a State Nuclear Medicine License in the applicable states.
- Certification from the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) in Nuclear Medicine or from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) is required.
- Venipuncture certification is necessary.
- Prepare and administer radioactive isotopes for various studies.
- Document all relevant information regarding radioactive materials and procedures.
- Communicate patient preparation instructions effectively.
- Collaborate with senior staff on complex issues.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
