Correctional Psychologist

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Psychologist to provide high-quality psychological services to mentally ill inmates/wards at a correctional facility. The ideal candidate will possess a valid California Psychology license and a minimum of 12 months of experience within the last 3 years, performing services similar in scope to those defined herein.

Responsibilities:

• Clinical Services: Provide psychological services to mentally ill inmates/wards, including conducting initial mental health evaluations, crisis intervention, group psychotherapy, and individual therapy sessions.
• Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive assessments, including clinical interviews, psychological testing, and record reviews, to diagnose and manage presenting symptomatology.
• Treatment Planning: Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans, including developing and implementing treatment modalities, and monitoring patient progress.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including clinical notes, progress reports, and treatment plans.
• Collaboration: Work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including treatment team members, institutional healthcare personnel, and other divisions within the department.
• Community Engagement: Establish collaborative ties with community programs, groups, agencies, and board and care homes to develop supportive community relationships.
• Education and Training: Provide mental health education and develop additional resources for mentally ill and sex offender inmates/wards.
• Administrative Tasks: Assist with data entry, compile and analyze data from audits, and provide information to support staff for data entry.

Requirements:

• Valid and active California Psychology license
• Minimum of 12 months of experience within the last 3 years, performing services similar in scope to those defined herein
