Job Summary

Under the supervision of our clinical staff, the Certified Nursing Assistant will provide direct care to inmates, assisting with activities of daily living, vital signs, and other essential tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Assist inmates with feeding, bathing, bed making, shaving, dressing, and other related tasks
  • Check vital signs, height, and weight as assigned, and collect and maintain records of fluid intake and output
  • Report on the condition of inmates and follow established infection control practices and emergency protocols
  • Assist inmates in wheelchairs, on stretchers, and walking, and promote and encourage resident hydration and elimination
  • Clean bedside units, nursing workrooms, and equipment, and assist nursing staff with washing and sterilizing equipment
  • Prepare and maintain written reports and records, and assist with medications ordinarily self-administered when specifically ordered by a physician
  • Respond to call lights promptly and courteously, and receive formal and on-the-job training in the theory and techniques of direct care support
Requirements
  • Current, valid Nursing Assistant certificate
  • Current CPR certification
  • Completion of a certification program from an accredited nursing assistant program
  • 0-2 years of experience preferred
