We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Clinical Nurse to join our team at the University of Maryland Medical System. This is a leadership role that requires a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead and motivate a team.
Key Responsibilities- Provide independent care to patients in the Emergency Department, serving as a clinical resource for others and utilizing evidence-based practices to improve patient outcomes.
- Lead efforts to address Nursing Sensitive Quality Indicators (NSQI) improvement opportunities, developing and implementing action plans to drive positive change.
- Perform charge role as scheduled, coaching new charge nurses and overseeing unit orientation programs.
- Mentor and coach other nurses to advance their development and maintain competencies required for the patient population served.
- Develop and implement Performance Improvement and Evidence-Based Practice initiatives at the unit level.
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland, or eligible to practice due to Compact state agreements outlined through the MD Board of Nursing.
- Up-to-date status on all mandatory training and classes.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or higher, or specialty certification with enrollment in a BSN or higher nursing program.
- Current BLS certification and unit-based licensure as required for the role.
- Relevant clinical work experience related to practice on the unit.
- Maintenance of 20 contact hours of education every two years.
- Master's degree in Nursing or higher.
- Specialty certification in a relevant area.
- Experience in a leadership role, with a proven track record of improving patient outcomes and leading teams.
