Securian Financial Group is seeking a highly skilled Financial Reporting Sr. Analyst to join our Institutional Retirement Solutions (IRS) finance team. Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports, including monthly financial statements and reporting
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial data, including journal entries and accounting transactions
  • Develop and document procedures to ensure accuracy and efficiency of financial reporting
  • Support the preparation and communication of financial information for auditors, insurance examiners, rating agencies, and company leaders
  • Participate in projects related to financial reporting or financial contracts
Requirements:
  • Accounting experience with exposure to statutory, management-based, tax, and GAAP for financial reporting and budgeting
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Math
  • Demonstrated initiative to serve as a resource for team members and independently manage projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to provide superior customer service to a variety of business partners
  • Demonstrated analytical skills to review and analyze financial statements and reports
  • Understanding of the structure of data within financial and administration systems
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to effectively multi-task and meet prescribed deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of insurance accounting concepts and products
  • Reinsurance accounting experience
