ROLE SUMMARY
The Culinary Specialist is responsible for the preparation of ingredients necessary for cooking, which includes tasks such as portioning, chopping, and storing food items. The role requires washing and peeling fresh produce, as well as weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients according to established recipes and quality standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and cooking a variety of dishes in accordance with recipes and presentation standards.
- Operating kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
- Testing food for proper cooking and quality assurance.
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including washing and disinfecting tools and equipment.
- Ensuring compliance with safety and security policies, reporting any maintenance needs or unsafe conditions to management.
The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, demonstrating professionalism and clarity when interacting with team members. Building and maintaining positive working relationships is essential, as is the ability to support team objectives and respond to the needs of colleagues.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
Experience: A minimum of 1 year in a related culinary role.
Supervisory Experience: Not required.
Certification: None required.
