Parks Maintenance Technician

Are you dedicated to preserving the beauty of our outdoor environments? Become a vital part of our team as a Parks Maintenance Technician and contribute to the enhancement of our community's green spaces.

Position Overview:

Working under the supervision of skilled Park Specialists, the Parks Maintenance Technician will engage in the maintenance and care of our parks through a variety of horticultural, forestry, and general upkeep activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute horticultural and forestry maintenance tasks including planting, weeding, and pruning
  • Oversee the maintenance of sports fields, recreational courts, and walking trails
  • Perform litter collection, waste disposal, and recycling duties
  • Clean and maintain park amenities and structures
  • Safely and effectively operate park maintenance machinery
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Competence in using park maintenance tools and equipment
  • Understanding of horticultural and forestry techniques
  • Capability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to adhere to instructions
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification
  • Prior experience in park maintenance or landscaping is advantageous
  • Willingness to learn the operation of landscaping machinery
Additional Considerations:
  • Candidates must be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to work in diverse environmental conditions
  • Physically capable of lifting and moving heavy items
  • Availability to work on weekends is necessary
