We are seeking a highly skilled Phlebotomist II to join our team at Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital. As a Phlebotomist II, you will be responsible for performing phlebotomy and other specialized specimen collection procedures for patients in both in-patient and out-patient settings.
Key Responsibilities- Collect and process biological specimens for laboratory testing
- Perform phlebotomy procedures, including venipuncture and capillary puncture
- Process, organize, and transport specimens to the laboratory for testing
- Register patients and order tests as needed using the patient information system
- File requisitions, reports, and other pathology materials appropriately
- Independently handle resolution of complex problems and issues, notifying management as needed
- High School diploma or equivalent education
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience, including data entry and specimen handling
- Neonatal/pediatric phlebotomy experience preferred
- Certifications: CPT, PBT(ASCP), or equivalent
This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. The ability to multitask and prioritize tasks is essential. The Phlebotomist II must be able to lift and move equipment and supplies as needed.
