Unit Details

Seeking a Med Surg RN for a travel assignment. This position involves working in a unit with:

  • Bed Count: 33 private rooms
  • Patient Ratios: 1 nurse to 6 patients
  • Common Patient Diagnoses: Elective surgeries including hips, knees, shoulders, and various fractures.
Required Qualifications

Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support)
Experience: Must have experience with orthopedic patients and PCA pumps.

Work Environment

This unit has a Charge Nurse available 24/7, with day charge nurses taking patients as needed. Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) assist with vital signs, ADLs, and more, with a goal of 4 PCTs for full capacity.

Scheduling & Requirements

Shifts: 12-hour shifts with weekend requirements every other week.
Holidays: Coverage may be required based on unit needs.

Orientation & Additional Notes

Orientation includes 1 day of EPIC training followed by floor orientation with a preceptor. The dress code requires royal blue scrubs.
