About the Role

As a Preconstruction Engineer at Vertical Mechanical Group (VMG), you will be responsible for supporting our project planning and execution efforts. This role requires a detail-oriented and proactive individual who can provide critical technical expertise, cost analysis, and coordination to ensure successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed project estimates and budgets, including materials, labor, and equipment costs.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and design teams to evaluate project scope and technical requirements.
  • Analyze construction drawings, specifications, and related documents to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Create preliminary schedules to align with project goals and timelines.
  • Research and source materials, equipment, and subcontractors to support cost-effective project planning.
  • Suggest value engineering initiatives to optimize project design and cost.
  • Provide technical support during the bidding and negotiation process.
  • Maintain clear communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency throughout the preconstruction phase.
