Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our team at Performance Foodservice. As a Truck Driver, you will play a vital role in the operation of our business by transporting empty trailers to our warehouse locations and delivering full trailers to domicile/shuttle yard locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive a tandem trailer, tractor trailer, and/or straight truck on intrastate and interstate routes to transport empty trailers to our warehouse locations.
  • Turn around and deliver full trailers with various products to domicile/shuttle yard locations in a safe and timely manner, adhering to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
  • Perform pre/post trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations, ensuring they meet company safety standards.
  • Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies, immediately reporting any safety hazards.
  • Inspect trailers for properly loaded and secured freight, ensuring all required route paperwork is available to the driver upon dispatch.
  • Park and store tractor trailers in designated areas, ensuring all equipment and freight are appropriately locked and/or secured.
  • Collect and secure damaged goods and customer returns in empty trailers, completing necessary paperwork at the base facility.
  • Unload all equipment, materials, and remove trash from trailers as required, performing general housekeeping duties in the tractor, loading dock area, and keeping trailers clear and clean.
Requirements
  • Valid CDL A with Doubles Endorsement
  • 3rd shift schedule, Sunday-Thursday nights (schedules may vary)
  • Ability to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate, and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout the shift
