Job Summary

As a Chief Physicist at Parkview Health, you will play a critical role in directing and coordinating all physics activity for our Radiation Oncology and Northeast Indiana Cancer Center. This position requires a strong leader who can provide essential physics support to various departments, including Radiation Oncology, Diagnostic Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, and contracted facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and coordinate all physics activity for Parkview Health Radiation Oncology and the Northeast Indiana Cancer Center.
  • Provide essential physics support to Radiation Oncology, Diagnostic Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, contracted facilities, and the Health System.
  • Fulfill the role of Radiation Safety office for the Health System and lead the Parkview Health Radiation Safety Committee to ensure compliance with all standards in radiation safety.
  • Assist with assurance of patient safety through participation in the Health System Patient Safety Committee.
  • Lead the physics department in maintaining and exceeding in quality, growth, service, financial, and human resource utilization and initiatives.
Requirements
  • Must have an MS in Radiological Physics, Medical Radiation Physics, or Health Physics. PhD preferred.
  • Must have prior training in biological sciences, anatomy, physiology, radiation biology, and radiation dosimetry; and have training in principles or radiation protection and radiation safety.
  • Must be certified by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) in Therapeutic Radiological Physics or American Board of Medical Physics (ABMP).
  • Three or more years of experience in full service radiation therapy center with a variety of radiation therapy equipment. Previous leadership experience preferred.
