Job Summary

GiaCare, Inc. is seeking an experienced and skilled Emergency Medicine Nurse to join our team. As a critical care registered nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced emergency department environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and Plan Care: Conduct thorough assessments of patients presenting to the emergency department, including newborns, children, adolescents, adults, and elderly individuals. Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Provide Emergency Nursing Care: Administer emergency nursing care to patients with varying levels of acuity, including level 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 patients. Utilize advanced cardiac life support measures as necessary.
  • Collaborate with Medical Team: Work closely with the medical team to provide comprehensive care to patients. Recognize medical emergencies and respond appropriately.
  • Delegate Tasks and Provide Education: Delegate tasks to emergency room and specialty technicians as needed. Provide counseling, guidance, and patient education to patients and their families.
  • Operate and Maintain Equipment: Set up, operate, and monitor specialized medical equipment, including IV infusion pumps, cardiac monitoring devices, EKG units, oxygen analyzers, nebulizers, and other unit-specific equipment. Ensure all equipment is properly cleaned and stored at the end of each work shift.
Requirements
  • Education and Certifications: Associates Degree of Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). National Registry of Paramedics (NRP) certification is highly desirable.
  • Experience: Minimum of two years of experience in emergency nursing, with at least one year of experience in an emergency room setting. One year of emergency room experience must have occurred within the last three years.
  • Licensure and Registration: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse. License cannot be under investigation nor have any adverse action pending from a state board or national licensing certification agency.
