As part of the Newman community, the staff member will collaborate with the institution's sponsors to embody the principles of compassion, inclusivity, and respect for diverse faiths and backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Build strong relationships with coaching staff and athletes to facilitate effective team operations.
  2. Support the head coach in organizing and executing training sessions.
  3. Assist in the preparation of scouting reports.
  4. Contribute to recruitment initiatives.
  5. Help coordinate travel arrangements and scheduling for the team.
  6. Oversee mentoring and tutoring programs for student-athletes.
  7. Maintain professionalism and ethical standards at all times.
  8. Acquire and demonstrate knowledge of NCAA compliance regulations.
  9. Complete all required training sessions, including those related to student privacy and equal opportunity.
  10. Enhance the overall success of the athletics department by undertaking additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's Degree completion is mandatory.
  2. Prior experience in a collegiate athletic environment is essential.
  3. Must be enrolled full-time in a Master's degree program during the academic year.
  4. A genuine passion for working with students and understanding their needs.
  5. Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication and motivation.
  6. Excellent organizational and technological proficiency.
  7. Certification in AED and/or CPR is preferred.
  8. Legal authorization to work in the United States is required.
Compensation and Benefits:
  1. This is a 12-month live-in role, with annual contract renewal.
  2. Monthly stipend provided throughout the duration of the assistantship.
  3. Single accommodation with complimentary cable and internet access.
  4. Meal provisions available when the dining facilities are operational.
  5. Eligibility for tuition waivers for fall, spring, and summer semesters, with responsibility for books and living expenses.
Additional Considerations:
  1. This role prohibits full-time employment elsewhere; part-time work requires prior approval.
  2. Tuition remission is contingent upon enrollment and class availability.
  3. Maintaining a minimum GPA of 3.00 is essential for retention in this position.
  4. A background check will be conducted prior to employment.
