Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Food Service Associate to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health. As a key member of our food service team, you will be responsible for preparing and delivering patient meals in a timely and efficient manner, while maintaining high levels of patient satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain compliance with diet prescriptions and obtain patient preferences within those diets.
  • Operate the cash register, when assigned, according to established procedures, including correct close-out and deposit steps, as well as completion of over-ring error slips.
  • Clean and sanitize all equipment, including cooking equipment, workstations, refrigerators, and food warmers.
  • Perform routine sanitation assignments, such as sweeping, mopping, garbage removal, and completion of the daily checklist.
  • Complete and maintain proper documentation of dishmachine temperatures, chemical logs, food temperatures, late tray logs, and pantry supply sheets for dry and cold items delivered.
  • Post menu boards and signage as assigned.
  • Prepare and serve food accurately, following menu and portion guides, and complete pre-portioning of desserts and other foods as assigned.
  • Stock stations with food, supplies, and other needed items.
  • Inspect china for cleanliness and chipping.
  • Deliver and pick up food trucks according to schedule and deliver Child Care meals as assigned.
  • Adhere to proper food handling methods as required by local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Follow all HACCP, Aide, and HIPAA guidelines, including proper hand washing, personal hygiene, food production, storage, labeling, and dating, recording accurate temperatures on a timely basis, and cleaning and sanitation.
  • Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned.
  • Adhere to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
