Job DescriptionAs an English as a Second Language Teacher at The Queen City Academy Charter School, you will advance the mission, goals, and educational philosophy of the school by planning and facilitating learning activities and experiences that promote the intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth of students.
- You will design and implement standards-aligned, rigorous, and engaging English lessons to meet high academic standards.
- Communicate and maintain high academic and personal expectations for all students.
- Differentiate instruction to best meet the needs of all students.
- Integrate research-based strategies that improve student retention of course concepts.
Required Skills and QualificationsThe successful candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree and certification as appropriate. All teachers must provide a copy of a valid New Jersey Certificate or proof of passing the required PRAXIS tests before employment is offered. You must demonstrate cultural sensitivity, ability to communicate with parents and students, mastery of subject matter content, hold high expectations of students, and possess basic understanding of child development. Teachers must be committed to the school design and philosophy.
