Scale Attendant

We are seeking an experienced Scale Attendant to join our team at Ad-vance Talent Solutions in Ocala, FL. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while ensuring the accurate weighing and processing of materials at our Solid Waste Facility.

Key Responsibilities:

• Weighing and Processing: Operate computerized scales with precision to ensure accurate weighing of commercial and private vehicles, promoting quality customer satisfaction.
• Loading Operations: Direct customers to appropriate disposal or recycling areas, inspect loads for hazardous waste, and utilize extensive codes to charge the proper material fee.
• Cash Handling and Bookkeeping: Collect tipping fees, process transactions via computerized terminal, reconcile cash drawer, balance receipts, and perform daily bookkeeping functions to account for Solid Waste revenue.
• Communication and Teamwork: Collaborate with Transfer station and Landfill Operators or Supervisors to ensure safety and accurate disposal procedures, generate scale tickets, and communicate vital information to stakeholders.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with training certification and continuing education credits to meet safety and other mandatory requirements, implement organization's guiding principles and core values.

About the Role:

This is a full-time position working four 10-hour days, with a half-hour lunch break and potential overtime opportunities. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent;
• Experience: Two years' related experience in customer service or a related field;
• Licenses/Certifications: Valid State of Florida driver's license;

Physical Demands:

The work is light, requiring occasional exertion of up to 20 pounds of force. The employee will regularly stand, walk, and sit; and frequently use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.

Work Environment:

The position involves working in various indoor and outdoor environments, occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and outdoor weather conditions, and regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.

Estimated Salary: $30,000 - $45,000 per year, depending on experience.
