Emergency Room Nurse

Fifth Commandment Healthcare Staffing is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Emergency Room at Antelope Valley Medical Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Job Summary:This is a travel contract position that requires a Registered Nurse with experience in the Emergency Department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in multiple disciplines, including pediatrics, obstetrics, medicine, cardiology, trauma, orthopedics, oncology, infectious disease, and psychiatry. The successful candidate will be knowledgeable in caring for all age groups, from newborns to geriatric patients.
Responsibilities:- Apply the nursing process in direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Practice triage of patients according to hospital policy.
- Assess patients and document their condition on the ED nursing T-system at least every two hours, or more frequently as needed.
- Intervene appropriately when assessment reveals an abnormal finding, such as airway, breathing, or circulation issues.
- Be knowledgeable about pre-hospital forms and procedures.
- Current California Registered Nursing license.
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Certification.
- Annual Restraint Certification/Recertification and JCAHO Review/Competencies.
- Ability to perform and interpret ECG correctly, institute Thrombolytic therapy protocol, and assist in ICP insertion and monitoring/interpretation of wave form.
The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced Emergency Department environment, requiring strong communication and teamwork skills. A detailed description of the physical requirements of this job is maintained in the Occupational Health Department.
Required Health Documents:- Documentation of valid period of validity.
- Physician's statement within 12 months.
- Drug screen within 30 days prior to assignment start date.
- Proof of TB test skin test within 12 months prior to assignment start date.
- Chest X-Ray: Proof of Positive TB with Chest X-ray and questionnaire.
- T-Spot/TB Gold: Within 12 months prior to assignment start date.
- T-dap Vaccine administered within 10 years of assignment start date.
- MMR (Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella) Titer must show proof of immunity.
- Varicella Titer must show proof of immunity.
- Hepatitis B Titer must show proof of immunity.
- Mask Fit Test within 12 months.
- Ishihara Test (Color-blindness) Record of it.
