About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our team at Home of Guiding Hands. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in improving the lives of young children with special needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate children's abilities to function and engage in everyday activities and routines.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to support children's development and independence.
  • Collaborate with families and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Conduct home visits and provide therapy sessions in family homes and community locations.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of treatment plans and progress.
Requirements
  • Current Occupational Therapy license from the State of California Occupational Therapy Board (CBOT).
  • Master's degree in occupational therapy from a program approved by the National Board of Certified Occupational Therapists (NBCOT).
  • Minimum one (1) year OT experience. Minimum one (1) year pediatrics experience (birth to 5 years of age).
  • Must be 18 years of age or older at the time of hire.
  • Must receive criminal record clearance from DOJ.
  • Must have valid California Driver's license, safe driving record, and have been licensed to drive at least 2 years.
  • Must maintain current and adequate auto insurance.
  • Must obtain CPR/FA certification if not already certified (we offer training for new hires).
  • Read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • Collaborative-minded professional with strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to form positive, supportive, and professional working relationships.
  • Detail-oriented with ability to ensure accuracy of program documents and paperwork.
  • Ability to manage work time efficiently and meet deadlines without close supervision.
  • Ability to maintain cultural awareness and sensitivity in working with differing attitudes and lifestyles.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment

The work environment for this position involves working with a variety of people in their homes and in the community. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk, hear, walk, bend, stoop, sit, stand, reach, and lift objects weighing up to ten pounds repeatedly during a shift.
