Job Description

As a Driver Full Time with CDL, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe operation of vehicles and transporting students as necessary. You will also be responsible for maintaining positive control of students during transport, ensuring all available safety devices are used at all times. Additionally, you will be responsible for ensuring that only authorized students are transported off Center and that students do not bring contraband on center vehicles. You will also be responsible for transporting students as necessary, being helpful, responsible, and caring, and picking up and delivering material as directed. Furthermore, you will be responsible for inspecting vehicles daily to ensure safe operation, performing routine vehicle inspections on GSA fleet, and reporting vehicle repair needs to supervisor. You will also be responsible for keeping accurate log of students transported off of and returned to Center, maintaining timely and accurate vehicle and transportation logs and records, and enforcing center standards of conduct at all times. You will also serve as a positive role model by reinforcing appropriate behaviors and documenting in an accurate and timely manner student misconduct. You will also assist Safety & Security Officers with student inspections as needed. Other duties as assigned.

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger and air brake endorsements and good driving record. With possession of Valid Driver's License, CDL requirement may be temporarily waived if individual can obtain valid CDL with endorsements within ninety days of hire date.
