As a vital member of the Vital Medical Transport team, you will be responsible for providing emergency medical care to patients in need. Your duties will include responding to emergency calls, assessing patient conditions, and administering medications as outlined in our approved Standing Medical Orders. You will also be responsible for safely transporting patients to medical facilities and reporting your observations and treatment to the staff.

In addition to your medical skills, you will need to possess excellent interpersonal skills, including compassion, listening, and communicating. You will also need to be able to maintain your composure in extremely stressful situations and work well under pressure.

Requirements:

* Must be 18 years of age or older
* High School Diploma or GED
* State of Tennessee Licensure as Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)-Basic
* Valid Driver's License with a good driving record
* Skills and experience with a high proficiency at the BLS level of service
* Current CPR Certification
* Interpersonal skills including compassion, listening and communicating
* Problem solving and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

* PHTLS Certificate
* ITLS Certificate
* National Registry Certifications

Conditions of Employment:

* Successful candidate must submit and pass a post offer, pre-employment physical examination, drug test and criminal background check
* May be required to submit to annual TB and rubella screening
* Work within the Vital Medical Transport Compliance Program
* Maintain all certifications and licenses throughout employment

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

* Work involves exposure to the elements, extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and loud noises.
* Must be able to work in all environments.
* Extensive physical activity, heavy lifting, pushing or pulling objects over 150lbs.
* Must be able to stand, bend, kneel, walk and lift up to 150 pounds multiple times throughout a shift.
* Exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations. Must be able to evaluate situations, remain calm and take control in all environments.
