We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shop Leader Mechanic to join our team at The H&K Group. As a Shop Leader Mechanic, you will be responsible for guiding a team of mechanics in the proper repair and servicing of heavy equipment, including electric, diesel, and gasoline industrial trucks and equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a team of mechanics in the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment
- Perform repairs, services, inspections, and DVIR
- Assign tasks to mechanics and direct workers in electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repair
- Communicate with supervisors and operations personnel in the event of an unscheduled repair requirement
- Maintain requisitions and supply of spare parts
- Enforce all company policies and procedures
- Maintain a safe, clean, non-bias shop
- Maintain shop to comply with all MSHA and OSHA regulations
- Maintain all licensed equipment and vehicles to comply with DOT regulations
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school in diesel mechanics or a related field, or 2 years of related experience and/or training
- Two years of supervisory experience
- Class A or B CDL or ability to obtain within one year
- Clean driving record
- State Inspection License
- Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
- Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)
- 4 years of related experience and/or training
- State Inspection license
- Experience working in heavy civil construction, road construction, or quarries
- OSHA, MSHA, or other relevant safety certifications

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy equipment maintenance and repair, and experience in supervising a team of mechanics. You will be a self-motivated and organized individual who is able to work independently and as part of a team. You will also have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and be able to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
