Timmons Group is seeking a highly skilled Civil Project Engineer II/III Roadway Design Specialist to join our Transportation Design Group in Ashburn, VA.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop roadway design projects using relevant software, modeling, and AutoDesk Civil 3D technology.
- Conduct engineering calculations and problem-solving using formulas and computer-aided tools.
- Prepare specifications and materials for projects, including research and cataloging of materials and installation methods.
- Collaborate with senior engineering staff to complete design details and plan sets.
- Perform research and write objective summary reports for project completion and inspection.
- Assist in preparing engineering and construction cost estimates.
- Conduct field observations, inspections, and data collection as directed by senior engineering staff.
- Communicate with internal design teams and client staff as directed by senior engineering staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
- At least two years of experience in transportation civil engineering related to roadway design.
- Proficiency in Bentley OpenRoads Designer is essential.
- AutoDesk Civil 3D proficiency is a plus.
- VDOT experience is preferred.
- EIT certification is preferred.
