About the Role

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team in a dynamic and patient-centered environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of MRI procedures and departmental support functions under the supervision of the Radiology Supervisor.
  • Identify gross pathology in the human body and adjust scanning parameters to provide pertinent information for interpretation.
  • Effectively use magnetic resonance and adjust parameters to minimize exposure to patients and staff.
  • Follow established protocols and use scanning techniques to include window and contrast levels, scanning time sequences, and scanning thickness.
  • Photograph, archive, and retrieve images.
  • Identify each patient, review each patient's requisition, and record pertinent data on MRI requisition at all times.
  • Perform comprehensive screening of patients and other individuals before allowing them to enter the MR system room.
  • Effectively explain the dangers associated with implants and devices, including pacemakers and implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs), to patients and staff.
  • Review each examination for technical accuracy and present completed examinations to radiologists.
  • Communicate pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of patients following the procedure.
  • Maintain daily patient MRI logs documenting patient information accurately and ensuring the quality of patient care.
  • Demonstrate ability to organize patient care and set priorities by providing critical care first and implementing physicians' orders.
  • Perform proper computer skills and show working knowledge of patient orders, status changes, patient charges, and profiles.
Requirements
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience as an MRI technologist, or registry eligible ARRT advanced certification in MRI required.
  • Graduate of an accredited radiology technology program or MRI Accredited Certificate Program required.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certificate - Magnetic Resonance Imaging within 12 months of hire OR American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists Certificate required.
  • Basic Life Support certification required.
  • Ability to stand, push, pull, and lift patients.
  • Ability to adjust routine to accommodate patient or department without affecting departmental flow.
  • Ability to communicate pleasantly and effectively with members and coworkers.
  • Proficiency in applicable computer software.
