Job Summary

As a Speech-Language Pathologist with the Good Samaritan Society, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients, providing assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for speech and language disorders. Your expertise will be essential in helping individuals of all ages to communicate effectively and improve their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer speech and language evaluations, tests, or examinations to diagnose and plan treatments for clients/patients/residents with various speech problems and swallowing disorders.
  • Assess clients/patients/residents with various speech, language, cognitive, or swallowing problems and develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical diagnoses.
  • Provide speech and language services to clients/patients/residents; monitor disease progression and adjust treatments accordingly.
  • Instruct clients/patients/residents in practicing speech and language therapeutic exercises; provide consultation for clients/patients/residents working through speech and language treatment processes.
  • Ensure all speech and language related standards, policies, protocols, and quality requirements are met.

Requirements:

  • Appropriate education level required in accordance with state licensure.
  • Must be licensed in the state(s) of practice as Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • When working at a Sanford Health Facility (not required but preferred by GSS Facilities): Holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence issued by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) or currently working on Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY).
  • When applicable, may require valid driver's license.
  • Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications. Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers required or within the first 60 days of employment.
