The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics is seeking a skilled Custodian to join our Environmental Services team. As a Custodian, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe, clean, and healthy environment for patients, guests, visitors, and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Perform general cleaning duties, including dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, and damp mopping hard surface floors.
- Remove trash and recyclables, and restock supplies for carts and custodial areas.
- Clean and disinfect restrooms, refill restroom supplies, and perform carpet cleaning.
- Make beds, move furniture, and set up rooms as needed.
- Operate various types of custodial equipment to perform duties.
- Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by management.
This position is performed fully on campus and may have Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure Risk.
About Environmental ServicesOur department is responsible for the upkeep and cleaning of over 2.8 million square feet of the hospital. We provide 24/7 operations and are committed to providing the highest quality of environmental care services to maintain a functional and safe environment for patients, staff, visitors, and other individuals served by and providing services for The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
