Internship Overview

The Logistics Analyst Internship is designed to provide support to the logistics department, focusing on warehouse and transportation operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and audit transportation carrier invoices related to detention and demurrage, and compile a monthly accrual file.
  • Develop a weekly forecast for warehouse throughput.
  • Monitor and report on detention and demurrage KPIs monthly, proposing strategies to mitigate risks and costs.
  • Generate a monthly report on surplus tires designated for scrapping.
  • Compile a weekly snapshot report for top management, summarizing the warehousing situation.
  • Conduct a weekly review of throughput volumes.
  • Assist in the shipping claims and freight auditing processes.
  • Collaborate with transportation management to identify the most cost-effective transportation solutions, including both sea and land freight.
  • Create and maintain daily reports on detention and demurrage expenditures.
  • Identify innovative and cost-saving initiatives in inbound transportation.
  • Focus on reducing detention and demurrage costs for incoming products from both domestic and international sources.
  • Track daily warehouse throughput.

Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:
  • Currently enrolled in a US-accredited degree program for at least another 12 months, with the ability to commit to a 12-month internship.
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Marketing Analytics, Business Administration, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Able to work a minimum of 20 hours per week during standard business hours (Monday to Friday).
  • Must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.8 or higher.
  • Willingness to work onsite at the Tire Headquarters three days a week.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel and strong mathematical skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Tableau or Power BI.
  • Ability to work approximately 25-30 hours per week.
  • Prior experience in logistics is advantageous.
