Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly qualified High School Physical Education Teacher to join our team. As a member of our staff, you will be part of a collaborative learning environment that values professional growth and development.
Key Responsibilities:- Lesson Planning and Instruction: Design and implement rigorous unit plans and lessons that meet the needs of all students, with clear, standards-aligned objectives and appropriate assessments to gauge student comprehension.
- Professional Development: Participate in bi-weekly coaching meetings and professional development to internalize content, teaching moves, and classroom management to improve your practice.
- Collaboration and Teamwork: Participate in a collaborative learning environment with other team members, including grade-level work, content teams, and professional development throughout the school year.
- Additional Duties: Execute school-based duties, including student conferences, arrival and dismissal, transitions, lunch duty, and other assigned tasks by the school leadership team.
- Education: Bachelor's degree required.
- Certification: Valid Tennessee teaching license with the appropriate content endorsement to teach, or a valid out-of-state license that can be successfully transferred to Tennessee within 90 days of employment, or demonstrate eligibility for certification in Tennessee.
- Belief in IOTA's Mission: A strong belief in IOTA's mission and commitment to the success of all students.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and school leadership.
- Flexibility and Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including a competitive salary range of $51,500-$75,250, based on years of certified experience. We are an equal-opportunity employer and strive for a balanced, productive workforce that values diversity and inclusion.
