Physical Therapist Assistant Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team at Premise Health. As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will work under the direction of a Physical Therapist to administer physical therapy treatments to patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer active and passive manual therapeutic exercises, therapeutic massage, and heat, light, sound, water, and electrical modality treatments.
  • Instruct and motivate patients to learn and improve functional activities.
  • Observe patients during treatments and compile data on their responses to treatments and progress.
  • Fit patients for, adjust, and train them in the use and care of orthopedic braces, prostheses, and supportive devices.
  • Confer with physical therapy staff and other health team members to exchange and discuss patient information.
  • Perform clerical duties such as taking inventory, ordering supplies, and filling out forms.

Requirements:

  • Associates Degree from an approved Physical Therapy Assistant program.
  • Certified or Licensed as a Physical Therapy Assistant if applicable in the practicing State.
  • Current Certification in AHA or ARC Basic Life Support for medical providers.
  • At least two years of experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant in an outpatient orthopedic, occupational health, or other ambulatory care clinic.
