Make a Real Impact on High-Risk Youth
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team at the Brockton Girls Detention Center. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a critical role in helping students overcome obstacles and achieve their goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and specialized lessons aligned with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Differentiate instruction based on student needs and abilities
- Collaborate with Department of Youth Services (DYS) staff to support student growth and development
- Provide social-emotional support and transition planning to ensure students are prepared for post-secondary education and career opportunities
- Monitor and report on IEP progress to ensure students are meeting their goals
- Engage with families through regular conferences and events to promote student success
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or related field
- MA license in Mild-to-Moderate Disabilities (Grades 5-12)
- Commitment to teaching high-risk youth and promoting student success
- Master's Degree preferred, multilingual candidates highly desired
