Job Summary

The Vice President of Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering is a key leadership position responsible for driving the development of academic programs and skills-based training that align with the State of Indiana's current and future industry sector demands.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with campus leaders and industry partners to set strategy for the School of Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering to reflect and align with industry needs.
  • Provide insights to other Sector Vice Presidents and college leadership on advanced manufacturing and supply chain trends and developments.
  • Facilitate opportunities for chancellors, deans, faculty, and industry practitioners to meet and collaborate.
  • Stay current with industry trends, employment projections, and demand-driven data to inform program development and recommendations.
  • Lead the development of new program proposals and credential offerings, ensuring high-quality and relevant content.
  • Assure programs and curricula comply with academic policies and lead or support program accreditation initiatives.
  • Network and collaborate with senior management from influential employers to drive industry demand and trends.
  • Make professional presentations to industry groups and leaders about Ivy Tech programs, capabilities, and resources.
  • Lead a statewide team of deans to foster the success and growth of the school on campuses.
  • Direct statewide inventories and make recommendations for equipment acquisitions to ensure quality program outcomes.
  • Partner with Career Link to facilitate opportunities for students, including career exploration and high-quality work-based learning opportunities.
  • Work with Government Affairs to determine legislative needs and support legislative efforts related to advanced manufacturing and logistics.
Requirements
  • Master's degree preferred in a field related to advanced manufacturing and applied sciences.
  • A minimum of three years' related experience in advanced manufacturing, applied sciences, industry, training, educational administration, or teaching at the post-secondary level.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work as a team member and be self-directed, with the ability to work at own initiative.
  • Ability to promote an inclusive environment that reflects the broad diversity and backgrounds represented by our students and employees.
