Role Summary
The BlueScope Construction Engineering division is dedicated to providing secure, innovative, and high-quality structural and construction engineering solutions that are economically viable for both internal and external stakeholders. The Structural Engineering Specialist I or II is essential in leveraging engineering systems to facilitate project coordination, structural design services, and modeling for clients.
- Produce effective designs of structural components and connections that align with client requirements, emphasizing the achievement of departmental goals and enhancing profitability within a high-performance team setting.
- Guarantee the structural soundness and safety of constructions by evaluating the work of other Designers and approving necessary documentation.
- Enhance product knowledge and technical skills to meet customer design service needs and adhere to project timelines.
- Work collaboratively with project teams to tackle challenges, identify efficient solutions, and advance projects in a cost-effective manner.
- Offer technical assistance to clients, mentor Design Engineers, and provide direction on internal design protocols and tools.
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Professional Engineering certification.
- 3 to 6 years of relevant engineering experience.
- 2 years of involvement in complex multi-unit projects.
- Comprehensive understanding of building regulations and steel design principles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Over 2 years of experience in pre-engineered building (PEB) projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit software.
- Familiarity with company systems, applications, and product design methodologies.
