Position Overview

Job Summary: The Certified Medication Aide plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective administration of medications to residents. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care and adherence to established protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer prescribed medications via oral, topical, and rectal routes as per physician directives and organizational policies.
  • Monitor residents for any physical or behavioral changes and report findings to the Charge Nurse promptly.
  • Document all medication administrations in accordance with company standards.
  • Maintain the security of the medication cart and ensure a safe environment for residents.
  • Adhere to infection control policies during medication administration.
  • Participate in ongoing training and departmental meetings to enhance skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a state-approved CMA certification program and current standing.
  • Valid driver's license or reliable transportation.
  • Preferred: One year of experience in a nursing assistant role within a skilled nursing or long-term care setting.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with electronic medical records.
