Job Description
Fiber Splicers at Lightspeed Construction Group are responsible for constructing and maintaining telecommunications infrastructure. This involves splicing large and small count Fiber Cables, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining equipment and vehicles.

Required Skills and Qualifications
* Utilize Fusion Splicer to splice Loose Tube & Ribbon fiber cable
* Prep/Splice single-mode (SM) and multi-mode (MM) optical fiber cables
* Troubleshooting of fiber utilizing an OTDR
* Strong communication skills required between the splicer and tech ops manager to address problems as soon as possible
* Proper record keeping and be able to review cable records as necessary
* Knowledge, understanding, and practice of safety regulations within OSHA, NESC, NEC, and other construction-related guidelines
* Maintain equipment and vehicle to a high standard
* Work indoors and outdoors as needed
* Iterate to the project/construction managers detailed accounts of field activity, both verbal and written
* Coordinate with tech ops managers to verify and perform work as directed
* Night work as needed for things like node splits
* Able to be on call for emergencies involving damaged cables
* Must know ribbon fiber
* Must know fiber to the home
