Job Title: Sr. Programmer Analyst

The Department of Medicine is seeking a highly skilled Sr. Programmer Analyst to assume responsibility for various computer systems and computer application projects within the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement computer systems and applications to support clinical and translational research projects.
  • Analyze business and clinical requirements to design and develop functional/technical specifications and designs.
  • Collaborate with Gastroenterology and Hepatology providers and staff to identify and prioritize needs for computer systems and applications.
  • Propose system scope and objectives based on user-defined needs.
  • Assist the Division's clinical and translational research unit with computer application development projects.
  • Manage and maintain clinical scheduling software, including its architecture and stored data.
  • Develop and maintain a centralized Divisional resource hub that contains policies, procedures, and forms for submitting common requests.
  • Build automated business workflows using available online applications.
  • Document business workflows graphically.
  • Manage Divisional IT policies and document them in the Divisional resource hub.
  • Oversee Divisional computer assets in office and clinical environments and the replacement of those assets.
  • Maintain database and backend configurations.
  • Develop and manage business decision support dashboards.
  • Assist with configuration, installation, testing, and upgrade of clinical software and hardware.
  • Provide guidance and training on clinical software or hardware to Gastroenterology and Hepatology providers and staff.
  • Evaluate service agreements for clinical software or hardware.
  • Assist with the procurement of new clinical software or hardware.
  • Manage user access to resources on internal servers.
  • Participate in patch installation, hardware installation, and systems monitoring.
  • Collaborate with various departments and external vendors as a Divisional liaison.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a closely related field.
  • Three years of relevant professional experience, including three years of experience with each of the following: EPIC Systems, QGenda, and the installation and management of medical device software applications.
