Reston, Virginia, United States Jacobs Full time

Your Contribution:

We deliver critical analytical support to the Defense Intelligence Agency's (DIA) Counterterrorism Office, influencing Department of Defense (DoD) strategies, planning, and operational decisions aimed at mitigating both regional and global terrorism threats. Our focus is on conducting essential counterterrorism assessments that target operational and strategic impacts against emerging terrorist networks and individuals posing risks to U.S. citizens, facilities, and interests. This role encompasses providing national watchlisting assistance to the Terrorist Identities Datamart Environment (TIDE) database, offering expert evaluations for high-level defense authorities, and maintaining round-the-clock support for DoD and senior policymakers, alongside international and interagency collaborators, on predictive threat evaluations concerning transnational and regional terrorist risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct thorough reviews of DoD datasets likely to contain identifying details for known or suspected terrorists.
  2. Identify, prioritize, and document information from relevant DoD datasets as directed by the Government.
  3. Cross-reference known or suspected terrorists with other intelligence resources to ensure data completeness and avoid duplication.
  4. Compile findings into nomination reports as specified by the Government, ensuring clarity, coherence, and proper formatting.
  5. Adhere to the production schedule for Terrorist Identity Nominations (TIN).
  6. Correct and resubmit any erroneous reports and prepare documents for dissemination as per Government specifications.
  7. Provide mentorship and guidance to less experienced team members involved in watchlisting activities.
  8. Demonstrate a solid understanding of intelligence community (IC) organizations related to counterterrorism operations, analysis, and information systems.
  9. Participate actively in meetings, conferences, and analytic exchanges supporting DIA's watchlisting mission.
  10. Exhibit comprehensive knowledge of national terrorist watchlisting policies and procedures, along with experience in working with select DoD datasets.
  11. Show in-depth understanding of terrorist organizations, including their names, locations, leadership, activities, and ideologies.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have experience in performing all-source intelligence analysis of DoD datasets to identify and nominate known or suspected terrorists into the National Terrorist Watchlisting system. Responsibilities include developing recommendations for national watch lists and producing analytic reports using DIA's internal tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience: A minimum of 3 years in a relevant field, with some experience within the last 2 years.

Education: A Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited institution, or 7 years of direct experience in lieu of a degree.

Knowledge of the 200 Series of ODNI's Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs) is preferred, along with the ability to produce formal strategic counterterrorism assessments and utilize research databases effectively.
