The Apple Media Tech (AMT) group plays a pivotal role in audio, video, and graphics across Apple's groundbreaking devices, including iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, AirPods, HomePod, Apple TV, and VisionPro. Our Audio team is integral to delivering high-profile features such as Game Audio, Siri, FaceTime, and media capture and playback.
Role Summary
As a key member of the Audio Session team, you will take charge of developing and maintaining software that integrates with the media policy engine, enhancing immersive audio experiences across Apple's platforms - iOS, watchOS, tvOS, and visionOS. Your responsibilities will include:
- Addressing challenges and contributing to the development of new features and functionalities.
- Supporting developer-facing APIs for both first-party and third-party applications.
- Collaborating with a small team of engineers, guiding them in the creation and upkeep of audio features.
Qualifications
We are seeking a candidate who is a self-motivated problem solver with excellent communication skills and a keen eye for detail. The ideal individual will possess:
- A solid understanding of digital audio technologies.
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with leadership or management experience preferred.
- Proficiency in C/C++ programming languages.
- Experience with Swift/Obj-C and systems programming.
- A strong grasp of multi-threaded software development and debugging.
- Familiarity with Audio APIs.
- A degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with a solid foundation in digital audio.
