Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide occupational therapy treatments to patients according to treatment plans developed by the occupational therapist.
  • Assist the occupational therapist with tests, evaluations, and complex treatment procedures.
  • Observe, record, and report patient conditions, reactions, and responses related to treatment.
  • Maintain daily records of treatments and document progress notes on patients as directed by the occupational therapist.
  • Collaborate with family members, physicians, and other healthcare professionals as needed.
  • Assist with departmental care and equipment maintenance.
  • Participate in in-service programs and meetings as assigned by the occupational therapist.
  • Engage in continuing education opportunities to maintain clinical currency.
Requirements:
  • Associate of Science degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant.
  • Current license or eligibility for licensure in the state of practice.
  • Prefer one year of rehabilitation experience in a similar setting.
  • Active membership in the American Occupational Therapy Association is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Adequate computer skills for required job duties and documentation.
