We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Physical Therapist to join our team at Yale New Haven Health. As an Outpatient Orthopedic Physical Therapist, you will be responsible for evaluating and treating patients in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate and treat patients with a range of orthopedic conditions, including post-surgical, developmental, neurological, genetic, oncologic, and traumatic injuries.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment teams to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans.
- Perform clinical evaluations, assessments, and interventions to promote optimal patient outcomes.
- Develop and maintain accurate and concise patient records, including documentation of treatment plans, progress, and outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Participate in professional development and stay current with best practices in physical therapy through ongoing education and training.
- Graduate of a CAPTE-accredited program in Physical Therapy or equivalent degree.
- Current licensure or temporary permit to practice as a Physical Therapist in Connecticut.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within two months of hire.
- One to two years of experience in an academic or large medical center-based practice preferred.
This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent standing, walking, and lifting of patients. The worker must be able to operate various exercise equipment, whirlpools, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation equipment. The worker must be able to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects or the human body.
