The BIM Modeler is a key member of our production team, responsible for providing modeling efforts for project delivery and standards. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical drafting conventions and standards, as well as proficiency in Revit software.
Key Responsibilities- Work with the Lead Modeler to develop Revit Families for revised standards or specific project needs.
- Efficiently model and document projects, including layout and input of marked-up drawings into Revit.
- Lead modeling efforts on projects, working with support modelers to complete deliverables.
- Setup Revit views for use by the Rosendin Project team.
- Electronic document filing and other facets of electronic drawings and/or models.
- Input marked-up drawings into Revit.
- Document and archive work pursuant to the REI Standard.
- Acknowledge REI confidentiality and/or Non-Disclosure requirements.
- Back-check own work for accuracy before passing on to others.
- Download drawings and information from the Web, SharePoint, or project websites.
- Associate degree preferred in Computerized Drafting field.
- Minimum 2 years' total experience with knowledge of electrical symbols and electrical drafting conventions and standards.
- Proficient working knowledge of current modeling applications software, including Revit families, views, browser structure, sheets, schedules, filters, and similar Revit functions.
- Fluency in Autodesk Navisworks, Autodesk Design Review, and working knowledge of 3D layout and design.
- Create Revit work sets and understanding of Revit work sharing process.
- Understanding of 3D coordination with other trades.
- Type, proofread, spell check own work without supervision.
- Receive and transmit documents on behalf of the design team.
- Fluency with plotters, printers, and reproduction systems.
- Fluency for importing documents into Revit projects.
- Fluency in the current version of Revit software employed by the Department.
- Fluency in 2D and 3D space.
- Fluency in reading 2D plans, electronically or hard copy.
- Skills in creating simple parametric families, utilizing shared parameters, creating schedules, and creating complex geometry.
- Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
- Prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary.
- Work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
- Oral and written communication skills as required for the position.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and an effective team player.
- Interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, vendors, clients, and others.
