Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist to join our team at Travel Nurse Across America. As an MRI Tech, you will be responsible for operating magnetic resonance imaging equipment and ensuring that images are accurate and passed on to physicians for medical interpretation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Confirm patient identification and review imaging requests
  • Explain imaging procedures to patients and provide reassurance and support as required
  • Screen patients for MRI safety prior to procedure performance
  • Correctly interpret doctors' written instructions
  • Position patients for MRI scans using immobilization and protective equipment
  • Assist radiologist with procedure performance
  • Start I.V.s, administer contrast media as directed and per protocol
  • Evaluate MRI scans for technical quality and collate processed images
  • Load and operate power injectors for contrast media administration
  • Follow safety procedures when working with radiation
  • Maintain accurate patient records
  • Understand and use the McKesson PACS system
Requirements:
  • 1 year of experience as an MRI Tech
  • ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT National Certification with registration in magnetic resonance imaging
  • State-specific licensing when required
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty
  • Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology

Please note that additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.
