Job Summary
The Cardiovascular Technologist is responsible for assisting cardiologists in the performance of diagnostic cardiac catheterization, pacemaker insertion, and peripheral vascular studies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cardiovascular technology and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist cardiologists in the performance of diagnostic cardiac catheterization, pacemaker insertion, and peripheral vascular studies
- Prepare patients for procedures, including groin clipping and peripheral pulse checks
- Assume patient care responsibilities while in the Interventional Radiology Department
- Maintain currency in stroke knowledge by completing annual online training
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular school of Technology, Respiratory Therapy, or Radiology Technology
- Current RCIS (Register Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) certification
- Minimum of two years previous Cardiac Cath, Electrophysiology, or Invasive Vascular Lab experience
- Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, basic dysrhythmia, and IABP training
