Responsibilities

  • Process IED evidence to develop latent prints using standard laboratory procedures such as cyanoacrylate fuming, fluorescent dye stains, powders in suspension, ninhydrin, and indanedione.
  • Identify, label, and capture latent prints on evidence.
  • Photograph each latent print using appropriate photographic equipment and techniques.
  • Analyze latent prints in Adobe Photoshop to ascertain suitability and send to the Defense Forensic Biometric Agency (DFBA).
  • Compare latent prints to known prints and draw conclusions.
  • Document all examination results in the Weapons Technical Intelligence Exploitation Analysis Tool (WEAT) database.
  • Review reports for colleagues.
  • Ensure proper chain of custody.
  • Prepare chemicals, conduct quality checks, and maintain a clean laboratory.

Required Qualifications

  • At least one year of experience performing Latent Print examinations and analysis on various materials.
  • Proficient in chemical, physical, and digital latent print examination techniques.
  • Familiarity with ABIS, AFIS, and national databases.
  • 20/20 vision or correctable to 20/20 vision with no color deficiencies.
  • Must meet all medical requirements for deployment and pass a skills assessment.
  • Capable of obtaining and retaining a DoD Secret security clearance.

Security Clearance

  • United States Citizen
  • Active Secret clearance preferred

Additional Requirements

As per the current contract and deployment guidelines, all hires must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
