CNG Service Technician Job Description

DMC Recruitment is seeking a skilled CNG Service Technician to join our team in Garden City. As a key player in the evolution of clean energy solutions, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing systems for Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), Renewable Natural Gas (RNG), and Hydrogen Fuel.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Electrical & Mechanical Maintenance:
    • Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical components such as wiring, panels, switchgears, switches, gauges, transducers, solenoids, actuators, motors, frequency drives, and controls.
    • Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on mechanical systems including compressors, pumps, engines, intercoolers, aftercoolers, heat exchangers, piping, tubing, valves, and actuators.
  • Advanced Troubleshooting & Repairs:
    • Use advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and rectify malfunctions in both electrical and mechanical systems.
    • Execute complex repairs and adjustments to ensure all equipment operates at peak performance.
  • Station Inspections & General Upkeep:
    • Conduct thorough inspections of CNG, RNG, Hydrogen, and EV Charging stations to verify operational standards are met.
    • Address any identified issues promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Documentation & Compliance:
    • Utilize service software to meticulously document all maintenance activities, inspections, parts used, and any relevant observations.
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations related to the operation of alternative fuel stations.
Requirements:
  • Experience & Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
    • A minimum of two years of hands-on experience in mechanical, electrical, or alternative fuels technology is strongly preferred.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficient in using diagnostic tools and service software for troubleshooting and repairs.
    • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including pumps, compressors, engines, and control systems.
    • Experience with electrical systems, particularly in a high-pressure gas environment, is crucial.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally, with or without assistance.
    • Able to perform physically demanding tasks such as walking, standing, climbing, and driving in various weather conditions.
