Recently, we have been awarded a significant grant of $694,000 from the Department of Health Care Services to enhance and broaden the implementation of Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) across Santa Barbara County. This initiative enables CALM to establish an 18-month learning collaborative for therapists, provide training and support for CPP implementation, and recruit a Clinical Supervisor with expertise in this methodology.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a Bilingual Therapist located in Santa Maria to provide psychotherapeutic services, rehabilitation, and care coordination for children up to age 21 and their families. Utilizing a trauma-informed framework, the Therapist will focus on improving the social-emotional and mental health of children, assisting them in reaching their mental health objectives and enhancing their overall functionality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit empathy, authenticity, and positive regard in therapeutic relationships
  • Conduct clinical evaluations and diagnose clients
  • Develop comprehensive case conceptualizations
  • Create treatment plans with specific, measurable goals
  • Provide psychoeducation and support for parents
  • Deliver culturally sensitive therapeutic interventions
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities
  • Conduct regular assessments to track client progress
  • Engage in professional development and pursue necessary certifications
  • Provide crisis intervention services as needed
  • Stay informed on relevant topics and best practices
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and serve as a liaison among stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • Master's or Doctorate degree in a relevant field
  • Current registration or licensure with the appropriate licensing board
  • A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience working with children and families
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
