Job Summary

A Registered Pharmacy Technician is a vital member of our team, responsible for performing pharmacy tasks and duties as delegated by a licensed pharmacist. This includes initiating or receiving communications with patients, providers, and team members to facilitate patient care, processing prescriptions, and assisting with compounding and distribution of pharmaceuticals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process refill authorization requests and assist with patient appointment review
  • Review medical records and insurance authorization requests
  • Process prescriptions, including investigational medications used in clinical trials
  • Assist with compounding, preparation, and distribution of pharmaceuticals
  • Maintain records and create reports required by law
  • Process documents required by the hospital

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Graduation from an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program or experience qualifying for licensure in Florida

Licensure/Certification

  • Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience as a Registered Pharmacy Technician in a hospital setting
  • Experience with pharmacy automation software systems, equipment, and electronic health records (EHR) systems
