Position Overview: The Speech Language Pathologist will engage with families of children aged birth to 3 in their homes and with students aged 3 to 5 in an inclusive preschool environment. The pathologist will collaborate with a team of professionals to assess, identify, and deliver direct services to students who qualify for assistance.
As an SLP within our district, you will be part of a collaborative team of 10 SLPs dedicated to addressing the needs of our students. You will receive mentorship from an experienced SLP and participate in a professional learning community. Opportunities for collaboration with fellow SLPs will occur weekly and during a designated late start each month.

Qualifications: Candidates must possess Minnesota Teacher Licensure as an Educational Speech Language Pathologist. This role requires the candidate to hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language. Candidates eligible to obtain this certificate will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver direct instruction to students in the areas of speech and communication as outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Consult with other educational staff on the effective implementation of communication strategies and assistive technologies within the learning environment.
  • Conduct speech and communication assessments for identified students.
  • Prepare necessary documentation related to speech services (IEPs, Evaluation Reports, Progress Reports, etc.).
  • Participate in and occasionally lead IEP meetings for assigned students.
  • Provide case management services for designated students.
  • Complete Third Party Billing documentation for students eligible for Medical Assistance.

Duty Days Per Year: 186 (prorated from start date)
Hours Per Day: 8
Type of Position: End of year with possibility of continuing contract
Salary: As per Teachers Work Agreement

The district serves over 4,100 students across various educational settings, including an early childhood family center, elementary schools, a middle school, and a high school. The district employs ten Speech and Language Pathologists to support students across all sites.
